Qualified Standard
A₀ Value as a Benchmark
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) recommends hygienic cleaning and thermal disinfection as the method of choice for reprocessing bedpans, commode pans, bedpans, and similar hygienic rinse items. The decisive benchmark here is the A0 value. This describes the intensity of thermal exposure to pathogenic microorganisms, such as viruses or germs, as a function of temperature and holding time.
For all DISCHER bedpan washer-disinfectors, the A0 value is freely configurable without any technical upper limit. We offer three levels that can be individually adjusted depending on the facility’s requirements or in the event of outbreaks and infections:
A₀ 600
Standard in care and clinics
A₀ 3000for critical care utensils and isolation wards
A₀ ∞freely configurable, no technical upper limit¹
All disinfection cycles are continuously recorded by a data logger on an SD card, legally compliant and traceable at any time.
¹ For very high A0 values, especially significantly above 3000, this may affect the lifespan of the devices.
